Our tuition will be based on 4 weeks (20 weekdays), and invoices will be provided by email on a monthly basis.
Furthermore, if there is a holiday that is observed by Optimus and we are CLOSED, the tuition for that month will be prorated.
* Optimus is CLOSED on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following day (Thursday and Friday), and Christmas Day.
** For all other holidays, Optimus is OPEN, and tuition will be invoiced. For example, Optimus is OPEN on the following holidays: Veteran's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Columbus Day, Lincoln's Birthday, etc.
We want to clarify our updated tuition policy with the following examples:
1. For April, there are a total of 22 weekdays. Therefore, the April invoice will include the two additional days.
2. For September, students will be invoiced from September 1st to September 31st. However, because Optimus will be CLOSED on Labor Day (September 7th), tuition will be prorated not to include the holiday.
3. For the week of Thanksgiving, students who attend OLS Thanksgiving week (Monday thru Wednesday) will NOT be invoiced for the Thursday and Friday of that week because Optimus is CLOSED. Should you decide NOT to send your students during Thanksgiving week, Optimus will NOT invoice you for that entire week.
During Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Break, students typically have 4 weeks off (1 week for the Thanksgiving Break, 2 weeks for the Winter Break, and 1 week for the Spring break). It would be up to the parent's discretion to have their student attend Optimus during those weeks.
If you choose not to send your students during those weeks, we require a notice by the 15th of the month prior. For example, if you decided not to send your students during the Winter break, please give notice by emailing info@optimuslearningschool.com by November 15th.
Optimus is OPEN during Thanksgiving Break (CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after), Winter Break (CLOSED on Christmas Day and New Years Day), and Spring Break! During these break times, students may attend Optimus from 9 am to 6 pm with no additional fee. Furthermore, parents are provided with the flexibility of having their tuition prorated should they decide not to have their students attend during those weeks. For example, if your student is not attending Optimus during the Spring break, tuition will be prorated not to include the Spring break. However, we do not offer daily prorated tuition for the Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring break.
During school breaks, students who do not regularly attend Optimus have the option to enroll during this limited time. These times include Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break.
We open at 9 am and students are allowed to be dropped off by then. In the morning, students will have time to engage in fun activities such as board games, drawing, reading, and electronic time. During lunch, they will watch a movie, and in the afternoon, they will be given worksheets to review what they have learned in school.
Full-Day Schedule (9:00 am - 6:00 pm or more than 4 hours) - Tuition: $80 per day
Half-Day Schedule (9:00 am - 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm or less than 4 hours) - Tuition: $50 per day
It is common policy at most learning centers to charge a registration fee upon signing up your son or daughter. At Optimus, we believe the quality of our services speaks for themselves, and we see no need to charge you a nonrefundable, upfront fee. We pride ourselves on the fact that our clients can test our services with no financial obligation.
Tuition payments are due in advance of the enrollment period, which is from the beginning of the month to the last day of the month that you are paying for. For example, payments for the enrollment period, September 1 – September 30, 2022, are due by the last day of the previous month, August 31, 2022. Any payments that are not made by the last day of the previous month will be considered past due and will be charged a late fee of $30.
Please call or email Optimus by 10 am of the date of your student's absence if you know your child will not need to be picked up due to absence or parent's pickup. We ask for notification by 10:00 am because our driver's pickup schedules are arranged every day by 10:00 am. We understand that parents might accidentally forget to notify Optimus, so we won't penalize you for your first absence without notification. However, when parents do not notify us that their children will not require pickup, our driver has to wait for the missing student and go to the admin office to see if your child came to school while other students are waiting in the van. This may also cause drivers to be late for their other pickups. For this reason, every absence without notification after your first will be charged a $30 driver fee. More than three absences without warning may result in removal from our pickup service. We appreciate your understanding in this matter and thank you for notifying us as soon as possible.
Parents are required to pick up students by 6:00 pm. Due to the late pickup, our teachers are required to stay overtime to supervise students who are picked up late. We ask you to please be respectful of our teachers’ time by arriving on time to pick up your student.
If you are late picking up your student, a late fee of $10 plus $1 per minute that you are late picking up your student will be added to your invoice. For example, if you pick up your student at 6:15 pm, you will be charged the late fee of $10 plus $15 because your student was picked up 15 minutes late.
$10 (Late Fee) + $15 ($1 / per minute) = $25.
We understand that emergencies may occasionally arise, and that may cause you to be late picking up your child. If an emergency arises, please call us at (714) 990-9902.
In addition to our afterschool pickup service, we offer pickup service for our private tutoring students. Pickup service is $10 per student per day. Pickup service is only available to our private tutoring students if there is a vacancy in our vehicles.
Program or schedule changes must be requested by the 15th of the month prior to the month in which the schedule or program change will be in effect. Requests are not guaranteed and are dependent on Optimus Learning School's ability to accommodate the requests. Program or schedule requests must be emailed to info@optimuslearningschool.com.
We require a cancellation notice by the 15th of the month prior to a student’s withdrawal. Please give notice by emailing info@optimuslearningschool.com. If we are not given notice by the 15th of the month, you will be subjected to pay up to one month of tuition to cover the costs we incur due to late notification. If you decide not to pay, your account will be referred to a third-party collection agency. This cancellation policy applies to ALL OLS programs and classes.
If a student wants to cancel an individual private tutoring lesson, the student must provide a 48-hour notice before the class to be eligible to receive credit that may be used toward future classes.
If a student wants to cancel a semi-private tutoring lesson, there will be no refund or credit.
If a student wants to cancel a group tutoring lesson, there will be no refund or credit.
If a student wants to cancel a piano lesson, there will be no refund or credit.
While every parent, of course, wants the best for all of their children, we know that the financial burden of sending all of your little learners to an after school program at the same time can become substantial. At Optimus, we are willing to shoulder some of that burden for you. We welcome and encourage you to bring all of your children by offering a 10% discount on your second child’s tuition and a 15% discount on your third child’s tuition. These discounts will be applied to the lesser amount. Do you have even more than three children? No problem! Arrange a meeting with the director and we will handle your situation personally!
Optimus thanks the American troops for all they do! To show our appreciation and support, all active-duty military members receive a 5% discount on their child’s tuition!

Optimus now offers two options to make private lessons more affordable for you. If you sign up for 50 hours of one-on-one instruction in any subject and pay upfront, you will receive a 5% discount on the total tuition. During the summer, our monthly tuition schedule changes to a weekly tuition schedule. We allow students to enroll in our summer programs weekly to accommodate their various vacation times. Therefore, how we calculate tuition is based on the weeks that your student is enrolled in. For example, James will enroll in the summer program for a total of four weeks. The four weeks are not consecutive because his family has decided to take a vacation. Since James has enrolled in a total of four weeks, the tuition amount for the entire four weeks is due upon enrollment.
We understand that sometimes vacation dates are not confirmed and we will accommodate rescheduling of dates of attendance if space is available and if we receive advanced notice. Optimus does NOT provide refunds or credit. This policy is in place due to our summer program's weekly enrollment and limited capacity. When a student enrolls in our summer program, they reserve that spot for that specific week, and we do not allow another student to enroll in that spot.
Optimus does not provide refunds or credit for any absences.
During the summer months, we will enforce a nut-free policy throughout our entire facility, including classrooms and common areas. Students are prohibited from bringing any food items containing nuts into the classroom. This measure is essential to minimize the risk of exposure and cross-contamination, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
